Members of Tabb Kiwanis Club participated in the USO of Hampton Roads Holiday Exodus at Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport on December 17, 18 & 19, 2011 to support the travel needs of American troops making their way home for the holidays. Tabb Kiwanis Club participated in Operation Home Front Project with toys for military kids in December, 2011. Boxes of toys were picked up by members of Tabb Kiwanis from Dollar Tree store in Suffolk for children of service members deployed overseas. This is just one of the many community service projects Tabb Kiwanians provide. Tabb Kiwanis Club member, Jack Kruger, picked up the Toys for Operation Home Front Project for military kids at the Dollar Tree store in December.
The Kiwanis Club of Tabb will sponsor the 5th Annual Super Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, February 4, 2012. The event will be held at the Tabb Elementary School Cafeteria (3711 Big Bethel Road, Yorktown) from 8:30 am to 11:00am. The cost is $5 per person with children under 5 being admitted free. In conjunction with the Breakfast, there will be an opportunity to "donate" $1 per ticket for a chance to win over 25 fabulous prizes. Tickets and prize chances are available at the door as well as from any member of the Tabb Kiwanis Club. All proceeds benefit Tabb Elementary School and other children's charities and projects in the Tidewater Area. For more information , please call 766-7931. Members of the Tabb Kiwanis Club regularly help at the Peninsula Food Bank of Hampton Roads to pack and bag donated food for distribution. On January 10, the members stuffed 75 food bags to be distributed to local Hampton schools.
